Right Reverend Bishop Richard Ng officiated and blessed the new Chapel Gereja St Peter & St Paul, Merarap Camp on 13th October 2019 where Bishop and the Rector of St Martin Parish, Lawas Fr. Sylvester Ding celebrated Mass 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year C with 100+ parishioners majority Timorese community working in logging camps, Lawas.

Yakobus the Church leader and Choir conductor representing the Timorese group is the pioneer who established the Timorese Catholics community to build the new Chapel at Merarap Camp situated 79 km away from Lawas town. The dedicated team adopted the gotong royong approach to construct the Chapel Gereja St Peter & St Paul with the support from Merarap Camp company sponsoring the materials.
